Consistency Affirmation

Consistency is a key to my success.
I am grateful that I can I enjoy successes in my life. I am aware that my behaviors, choices, and emotions play a large role in my being successful.
Although I have many personality characteristics that compel me to do my best and achieve my goals, I find that my consistency is an important key to my success.
Reflecting occasionally on my capacity to be consistent is integral to my accomplishments. In striving to be consistent, I apply logical thinking. I endeavor to be orderly in my efforts. And I put all my energy into what I am doing at the time.
Striving for consistency also gives me persistence. I stick with a task until it is completed to the best of my ability.
Consistency comes with a guarantee: if I continue diligently in focusing on a task, apply organization, and use logical thinking, I succeed. I firmly believe that my success is largely due to my ability to be consistent.
Another positive aspect of consistency is that I set an excellent example to others to be logical, orderly, and focused.
Today, I am pleased when I reflect about how consistency pays off for me in my daily life. I know I can continue to be consistent at home, with friends, and at work. I am successful because I am consistent.
Things To Think About During The Week:
- How do I value consistency?
- Would my friends, family and colleagues describe me as a consistent person?
- Does my level of consistency need to be improved? If so, how can I do it?

Never Give Up!
Anyways, I saw this quote (or poem?) and wanted to share it with you as it reminded me of Nick Vujicic.

Are You A Perfectionist?
I know I can be a perfectionist at times. But what I've learned is if you embrace that type of thinking to the extremes, you'll never succeed at anything. Period! Why? Because you'll never get started. You will be so involved in the planning process, watching out for that trap or that possibility, that all you put up will be roadblocks, resulting in delays to take action. Perfectionists are afraid to make mistakes.
So what can we do?
Choose a path to proceed and take action.
And, don't be afraid to make mistakes. Learn from them and move forward. View mistakes as a stepping stone towards your goal.
Rinse and repeat.
So, bottom line, it's the "imperfectionist" that will take action and get things done.

A Universal Mindset For Peace?
Here's a very popular remake of a Hollies classic and a Hillsborough tribute ... He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother ...
I never get tired of listening to this Hollies classic. It just tugs at my heart. But moreover, if we all had that type of mindset don't you think this world will be a better place to live?

How To Get Along With Others
Since my last blog post touched upon relationships, I decided to ride that wave and talk about how to get along with others. Okay, I admit I'm no social butterfly, but I think I know a thing or two about getting along with people. For me, I've learned it's better to use more of your ears rather than your mouth, and never be afraid to use the words "Thank You" and "I'm Sorry". Not sure how many bad situations could have been avoided in our daily lives if such words were spoken.
I found these wise sayings about the keys to getting along with people at a site called Theologic.com:
Easier said than done, right? I hear ya, but putting those tips to work could possibly open up a whole new horizon for you. I know there are a number of areas I can definitely work on!
In closing, I want to leave you with this music video performed by Smash Mouth called "Why Can't We Be Friends" (a classic by War years ago) ...
I found these wise sayings about the keys to getting along with people at a site called Theologic.com:
The Ten Commandments on How to Get Along with Other People:
- Keep skid chains on your tongue; always say less than you think. Cultivate a low, persuasive voice. How you say it often counts more than what you say.
- Make promises sparingly, and keep them faithfully, no matter what it costs.
- Never let an opportunity pass to say a kind and encouraging word to or about somebody. Praise good work, regardless of who did it. If criticism is needed, criticize helpfully, never spitefully.
- Be interested in others, their pursuits, their work, their homes, and families. Make merry with those who rejoice; with those who weep, mourn. Let everyone you meet, however humble, feel that you regard him as a person of importance.
- Be cheerful. Don't burden or depress those around you by dwelling on your minor aches and pains and small disappointments. Remember, everyone is carrying baggage.
- Keep an open mind. Discuss - but don't argue. It is a mark of a superior mind to be able to disagree without being disagreeable.
- Let your virtues speak for themselves. Refuse to talk of another's vices. Discourage gossip. It is a waste of valuable time and can be extremely destructive.
- Be careful of another's feelings. Wit and humor at the other person's expense are rarely worth it and may hurt when least expected.
- Pay no attention to ill-natured remarks about you. Remember, the person who carried the message may not be the most accurate reporter in the world. Simply live so that nobody will believe them. Disordered nerves and bad digestion are a common cause of back-biting.
- Don't be anxious about the credit due you. Do your best, and be patient. Forget about yourself, and let others remember. Success is much sweeter that way.
Easier said than done, right? I hear ya, but putting those tips to work could possibly open up a whole new horizon for you. I know there are a number of areas I can definitely work on!

Improve Yourself, Improve Your Relationships
Yes, it's true ... nobody really wants to think that they need to help themselves improve, especially, since it involves planning and working hard. Of course, it also involves thinking about the consequences you can face if things don't change. Still, it's important to know what you need to do to make things better. That's what the tips below are for.
One of the best ways to get an accurate picture of yourself and to learn wisdom is through serving others. Whether you enjoy volunteering at a homeless shelter, helping kids at your church or cleaning up the environment, service projects can strengthen your sense of purpose and your connection to your fellow human beings. Did you see the movie titled "The Peaceful Warrior"? If not, you should check it out. It's a great movie about living in the present moment. Anyways, one of the main characters in the movie named Socrates (played by Nick Nolte), a wise mentor, tells his student, "There's no greater purpose than service to others".
Great resources for overall personal development are books. Books can be audio, print or digital versions. The information contained in these sources will not only provide you with motivational quotes and tips, but also inspire you to take control of your situation and have you on your way to feeling more fulfilled and in tune with your emotions and behaviors.
You need to accomplish at least one planned task a day if you want to feel productive. The task should not be a daunting one. It is important to choose a task that fits into the time that you have available, rather than trying to squeeze it into a smaller time slot, which ultimately, may result in failure.
Yoga doesn't just have benefits for your physical health, it can help improve your mood, too. As a result, it becomes a valuable self-help tool. Practicing yoga helps to calm the mind, which leaves you less vulnerable to stress. Even simple techniques, such as controlled deep breathing, can help you to relax more effectively and reduce your anxiety each day.
Enhance and sustain the quality of your romantic relationships by taking a good look at your partner's most irritating traits and the motivations (or lack thereof) behind the action. Many people find that they automatically assume that their partner's behavior is deliberate or consciously directed at them. More often than not, the offending party would never in a million years think that he or she was doing something to upset their partner.
See, it wasn't nearly as bad as you thought it would be, right? That is, thinking about how you can help yourself live a better life. Life can get stuck in a rut, and that can make living it that much harder. I hope the tips covered on today's blog post can help improve yourself so that you can live a happier life, your way.

Don't Lose Focus Of Your Dreams
Being focused and dedicated in putting your dreams into plans will determine your success and overall development as a person. If you fail to have focus or direction, you will find yourself moving onto other paths that seem less challenging instead of pressing forward with the things that you really aspire to change.
Take action today. Many people have goals and dreams, but put them off until "a better time". Here's the truth: There is no better time than right now. If you want something, take a little step toward it today. Not only will you feel proud that you have actually accomplished something, you'll feel so good about it, you'll want to do more.
A key step in personal development is maintaining a journal or diary with your feelings, goals and ambitions. Over time, you can track how you have evolved and how close you are to achieving your dreams. Using this method will keep you on track to improving yourself and achieving your personal development goals.
Your dreams have a price attached to them, even if it is not a monetary price tag. You should pursue every goal with passion and dedication to achieve an excellent outcome. That said, even challenging or overwhelming goals should be pursued relentlessly and with gusto. You will soon find that life's challenges are easier to scale than you ever dreamed.
If you have dreams of a better life, make those dreams your desire. Dreams live in the head, but desires live in the heart. When your heart desires something, you will naturally seek ways to fulfill those desires. Your dreams will no longer be passive dreams, but will have a chance of coming true.
No matter what, do not let anyone or anything get in the way of your dreams. There will be times that you are frustrated, and nothing seems to be working in your favor. Continue to do everything that you can to realize your dreams, because that is the only way that you will be successful and grow as a person.
I like to end today's blog post with a commercial. Not your ordinary commercial, though. It's from Thailand, and it's a Pantene Shampoo commercial. Once the hair starts to flow, then you'll notice it's a shampoo commercial. But the message behind this commercial aligns with today's blog post. Oh, and I really like the music behind it ... Pachelbel Canon in D. I hope you enjoy this video about a deaf and mute girl's journey of learning to play the violin ...

Life Is Like A Cup Of Coffee
I found this video about a wise and sly college professor "lecturing" his former students about life. It's all about gratitude and being grateful for what you have, not about focusing on what you don't have. I hope you enjoy this video. Nice background music, too.
Live simply.
Live simply.
Speak kindly.
Care deeply.
Love generously.
Make the best of everything in 2014!
