Consistency Affirmation

Consistency is a key to my success.
I am grateful that I can I enjoy successes in my life. I am aware that my behaviors, choices, and emotions play a large role in my being successful.
Although I have many personality characteristics that compel me to do my best and achieve my goals, I find that my consistency is an important key to my success.
Reflecting occasionally on my capacity to be consistent is integral to my accomplishments. In striving to be consistent, I apply logical thinking. I endeavor to be orderly in my efforts. And I put all my energy into what I am doing at the time.
Striving for consistency also gives me persistence. I stick with a task until it is completed to the best of my ability.
Consistency comes with a guarantee: if I continue diligently in focusing on a task, apply organization, and use logical thinking, I succeed. I firmly believe that my success is largely due to my ability to be consistent.
Another positive aspect of consistency is that I set an excellent example to others to be logical, orderly, and focused.
Today, I am pleased when I reflect about how consistency pays off for me in my daily life. I know I can continue to be consistent at home, with friends, and at work. I am successful because I am consistent.
Things To Think About During The Week:
- How do I value consistency?
- Would my friends, family and colleagues describe me as a consistent person?
- Does my level of consistency need to be improved? If so, how can I do it?

Never Give Up!
Anyways, I saw this quote (or poem?) and wanted to share it with you as it reminded me of Nick Vujicic.

Are You A Perfectionist?
I know I can be a perfectionist at times. But what I've learned is if you embrace that type of thinking to the extremes, you'll never succeed at anything. Period! Why? Because you'll never get started. You will be so involved in the planning process, watching out for that trap or that possibility, that all you put up will be roadblocks, resulting in delays to take action. Perfectionists are afraid to make mistakes.
So what can we do?
Choose a path to proceed and take action.
And, don't be afraid to make mistakes. Learn from them and move forward. View mistakes as a stepping stone towards your goal.
Rinse and repeat.
So, bottom line, it's the "imperfectionist" that will take action and get things done.

A Universal Mindset For Peace?
Here's a very popular remake of a Hollies classic and a Hillsborough tribute ... He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother ...
I never get tired of listening to this Hollies classic. It just tugs at my heart. But moreover, if we all had that type of mindset don't you think this world will be a better place to live?

How To Get Along With Others
Since my last blog post touched upon relationships, I decided to ride that wave and talk about how to get along with others. Okay, I admit I'm no social butterfly, but I think I know a thing or two about getting along with people. For me, I've learned it's better to use more of your ears rather than your mouth, and never be afraid to use the words "Thank You" and "I'm Sorry". Not sure how many bad situations could have been avoided in our daily lives if such words were spoken.
I found these wise sayings about the keys to getting along with people at a site called Theologic.com:
Easier said than done, right? I hear ya, but putting those tips to work could possibly open up a whole new horizon for you. I know there are a number of areas I can definitely work on!
In closing, I want to leave you with this music video performed by Smash Mouth called "Why Can't We Be Friends" (a classic by War years ago) ...

The Ten Commandments on How to Get Along with Other People:
- Keep skid chains on your tongue; always say less than you think. Cultivate a low, persuasive voice. How you say it often counts more than what you say.
- Make promises sparingly, and keep them faithfully, no matter what it costs.
- Never let an opportunity pass to say a kind and encouraging word to or about somebody. Praise good work, regardless of who did it. If criticism is needed, criticize helpfully, never spitefully.
- Be interested in others, their pursuits, their work, their homes, and families. Make merry with those who rejoice; with those who weep, mourn. Let everyone you meet, however humble, feel that you regard him as a person of importance.
- Be cheerful. Don't burden or depress those around you by dwelling on your minor aches and pains and small disappointments. Remember, everyone is carrying baggage.
- Keep an open mind. Discuss - but don't argue. It is a mark of a superior mind to be able to disagree without being disagreeable.
- Let your virtues speak for themselves. Refuse to talk of another's vices. Discourage gossip. It is a waste of valuable time and can be extremely destructive.
- Be careful of another's feelings. Wit and humor at the other person's expense are rarely worth it and may hurt when least expected.
- Pay no attention to ill-natured remarks about you. Remember, the person who carried the message may not be the most accurate reporter in the world. Simply live so that nobody will believe them. Disordered nerves and bad digestion are a common cause of back-biting.
- Don't be anxious about the credit due you. Do your best, and be patient. Forget about yourself, and let others remember. Success is much sweeter that way.
